Teens and teen fiction fans are invited to attend this special author event. Schenectady County Public Library and the Friends of SCPL present New York Times bestselling and award-winning young adult author Tiffany D. Jackson. She is the author of YA novels Monday’s Not Coming, Allegedly, Let Me Hear A Rhyme, Grown, White Smoke, Santa in The City, The Weight of Blood, and co-author of Blackout.

After the author talk, enjoy refreshments, and have your book signed by the author. Books will be available for purchase courtesy of Open Door Bookstore. This event is co-sponsored by the Schenectady City School District.

Join the library in welcoming founder and CEO of Harlem Grown, Tony Hillery. Harlem Grown is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire youth to lead healthy and ambitious lives through mentorship and hands-on education in urban farming, sustainability, and nutrition.

His children’s picture book of the same title, Harlem Grown, is a celebration of healthy children and sustainable community gardens. 

Books will be available for sale and signing at the event courtesy of Open Door Bookstore. The book and event are best suited for children in 1st grade and above. This event is co-sponsored by the Schenectady City School District.
