CALLING ALL POETS!

We’re having our first ever poetry contest!

In conjunction with our Edgar Allen Poe Open House on October 24th at the Whitney Book Corner, the Friends of the Library are holding a poetry contest seeking original spooky poems. There will be one winner per category and the prizes will include a gift certificate to the Whitney Book Corner. The winning poems will be published in our newsletter, on our website and will be read by you or staff at the open house (your choice).

Contest Rules:
Two categories: Junior-13 to 18
Adult – 18 and up
Poems must be no longer than
four stanzas, four to six lines per stanza.
One entry per person
Poems must be in the spirit of Halloween or Poe’s works
All entries must be postmarked no later than October 10th
Mail entries to Friends of the Library, Poetry Contest, 99 Clinton Street, Schenectady, NY. 12305
Indicate on your poem the category you are in, along with your name and phone number
