CELEBRATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARIES OF THE ROCKWELL MUSEUM
Join the Friends of the SCPL on Wednesday, June 12th as we travel to the lovely town of Stockbridge Massachusetts to visit the Norman Rockwell Museum and Chesterwood Estate.

The Rockwell Museum will be featuring the museum’s special 50th anniversary exhibits including “Norman Rockwell: Private Moments for the Masses” and “Woodstock to the Moon: 1969 Illustrated”.We will have a “Picnic in a Bag” lunch at the Rockwell Museum Terrace Cafe, prepared by the Red Lion Inn. After lunch we will visit Chesterwood, the summer estate and studio of famed sculptor Daniel Chester French. French was the leading monument sculptor of his day, best known for his statue of the seated Abraham Lincoln inside the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. We will have a guided tour of his home and studio with time on your own to explore the gardens and exhibits. Chesterwood is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
We will leave Schenectady from the Home Depot parking lot (furthest area from Home Depot Store, look for bus) at 8:30 am.We will head back to Schenectady at 4 pm arriving back at the Home Depot lot approximately 5:30.
Be sure to make your selection on the registration form. All lunches include your choice of sandwich, pasta salad, bagged potato chips, bottled water and Norman Rockwell’s favorite oatmeal raisin cookie.
