The Friends of SCPL elected a new slate of officers at their Annual Dinner on April 16 at Schenectady County Community College They are: John Karl, President; Fred Eddy, First Vice President;, Ellie Rowland, Second Vice President; Mary Beth Barbagelata, Secretary and Nancy Virkler, Treasurer.
The culinary arts students at SCCC prepared the meal, using local ingredients when possible. Both the culinary arts and hotel and restaurant management students provide the dining room service.James J. Salengo, Executive Director of Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation gave a talk entitled Reimagining Downtown: It Takes a Team.
Welcome to the new officers and to those on the board continuing in service. We face challenging times ahead, but the Friends are up to it!

The Friends of the Library are gathering stories to be included on this website in a new feature entitled “Tell Us Your Story”. We will also videotape, with permission, respondents relaying their memories, for use as promotional materials.
