Community Outreach

The Friends Community Outreach Committee was formed in late 2023, with the mission of extending literacy resources to organizations in need. Through the โ€œBuilding Libraries Through Outreachโ€ initiative, the Committee has supported nursing homes, hospitals, senior centers, schools, Boys & Girls Club programs, the Schenectady County Jail, and more. The Committee continues to network and build connections throughout the community, sharing in the spirit of giving and working to make a meaningful difference for residents of Schenectady County. Since 2023, over 5,000 books have been donated to community organizations.
