The Friends of the Schenectady County Public Library is one of the largest, most active, and most enthusiastic library support systems in New York State. Since 1966 the FOL has been enhancing the library system in Schenectady County through their support of numerous library programs.
The main branch of the library is located at 99 Clinton St., Schenectady, N.Y., 12305. There are nine additional branches within the county. Click here for hours and locations.
The Friends manage the Whitney Book Corner, a second-hand book store staffed by volunteers and stocked entirely with donated books. Proceeds from the store and from several book sales held during the year at the library are used to benefit library programs. CLICK HERE FOR PHOTO GALLERY. The Friends publish a newsletter five times a year with information about upcoming programs, free movies at the library, book sales, and member benefits.
